Theme

“Inclusion” is the theme for this year. Your brilliance lies in elaborating the theme in your writing or art.In letter writing you must write for ‘Inclusion of Children with Disabilities in all Schools.’ In Story writing theme is " My best friend" and "My school idol".(Best friend and the school idol are children/person with disability)

Language

Hindi, English & Odia. However if it is other than Hindi, English or Odia then a translation in any of these three languages should accompany.

Process

Teachers must send the entries to Swabhiman office. Entries should be addressed : Anjali Superstar Contest (Solo), Swabhiman, A-98 Budhanagar, Bhubaneswar – 751006, Odisha, India or emailed (only international participants) to [email protected]?

Categories (Age Group)

Category I - Class 6-8 (Up to 18 years for children are mentally challenged, autistic or have severe disabilities);

Category II - Class 9 -12

Prizes

• The entries will be judged by the organizers with the help of a jury.
• The judges' decision will be final.

The following prizes are offered:

Swabhiman's Gold Medal for 1 best entry in each category.
About 20 Silver Medals and 20 prizes.
Certificates of Merit to deserving entries.
Certificate of Participation to all.

The best entries will be published in Swabhiman's "Inclusive world" Magazine. All competitors are entitled to a copy of the Magazine, at a concessional price. They can reserve their copies by mailing the attached coupon.

Rules

Poetry (Young Anjali Poet Challenge)

YAP is a new initiative in Anjali to recognize the power of poetry - its ability to inspire emotions and the special pleasure children can get from juggling words to create poems.
The following rules which must be adhered to :
• Poems must be the original work of the entrant and must be previously unpublished in any form (print, electronic or other media).
• Written poetry must be either typed (preferred) or legibly written in ink; audio poetry must be submitted on a CD/DVD.
• Poems should not exceed 32 lines in length (written) and should not be less than 24 lines, or 3 minutes in audio format.
• Teachers can send (email – only for international participants) all entries from their classes/ schools in one envelope (or several, if needed) for each category. Please do not have each student mail his or her entry separately.

Story(Anjali Emerging Writers)

It's not always easy to get kids motivated to write. One way to get them to polish their writing skills is to have them enter a writing contest. Sometimes just the idea of recognition is enough to get those pencils to paper (or fingers to keyboard). AEW is a new initiative in Anjali to recognize the power of creative writing within children.
The following rules which must be adhered to :
• Stories must be the original work of the entrant and must be previously unpublished in any form (print, electronic or other media).
• Stories must be either typed (preferred) or legibly written in ink; audio stories must be submitted on a CD/DVD. (3) Type your story (minimum 12 point font), or print it in ink as neatly as possible.
• Use A4 size paper, leaving a 1-1/2 inch margin on the left side.Use only one side of the paper. Use maximum 4 pages.
• All entries must be received no later than 25th of September 2017.
• Teachers can send (email – only for international participants) all entries from their classes/ schools in one envelope (or several, if needed) for each category. Please do not have each student mail his or her entry separately.

Cartooning

Will provide children with a unique way to express their opinions about current issues.
The following rules must be adhered to :
• Cartoons must be the original work of the entrant and not copied from any source.
• Cartoons, one or more, to a maximum ten, can be submitted by each child. However, each must be drawn in a separate A4 size paper
• Teachers can send all entries from their classes/ schools in one envelope (or several, if needed) for each category. Please do not have each student mail his or her entry separately.

Important

Each entry must have the following printed legibly on the back:
• Student's name, class, address, home telephone number, teacher's name, name of school, school address, and school telephone number.How important is this information? Entries without it will be disqualified.
• In case of stories and poetry, we will accept entries in all languages. However if it is other than Hindi, English or Odia then a translation in any of these three languages should accompany.
• A competitor may submit upto 6 entries.
• No entries will be returned.
• Submissions become property of Swabhiman.
• The judges’ decision is final.
• We hope to announce the winners by on 10th of October 2017. By entering the competition children give permission to Swabhiman to reproduce their work, with the author’s name, in displays, promotional material and on their web pages.

The Anjali Superstars Contest (group) is a mosaic of debate, art, dance,music, and collage competition which invites participation of mainstream schools from across Odisha; and SSA schools and special schools from across India.

“Super Heroes” is the theme for this year. Your brilliance lies in integrating the theme in your presentation, whether art or dance or music.For debate the topic is ‘Removal of Barriers will enhance Inclusion of Children with Disabilities in all Schools.’

Process

The preliminary competitions will be held in various schools. Finals will be held in camp Anjali between 14th to 18th November 2017.

Rules:


Group Dance

(1) You can participate in one or all three categories of modern, classical (from six classical dance forms of India) or folk style.
(2) Costumes and music to be arranged by participants.
(3) Time limit is 4 minutes.
(4) 2 (A-4) pages of title of dance, description of concept of dance, with names of guide/adviser teacher, participants, age and class typed and stapled together.
(5) Judging criterion will include costumes, synchronization of dancers, graceful postures, perfection in movements, music quality, lyrics, time limit, concept note submission and theme.

Group Song

(1) School uniform is the costume and accompanying music to be arranged by participants
(2) Time limit is 4 minutes.
(3) 2 (A-4) pages of title of song, description of concept of song, with names of guide/adviser teacher, participants, age and class typed and stapled together.
(4) Judging criterion will include lyrics, voice, music, rhythm, pitch, neatness of school uniform, concept note submission and theme.

Collage

(1) The total time provided for this will be two hours.
(2) The presentation style must be your own creation and not something you found online. It can contain text, be any size, shape, color-scheme, etc. that you want!
(3) Chart paper will be provided to the participants. Participants are expected to get all other materials such as pencils/pens, sketch pens, color paper, glue, scissors, sticking tape, magazines/newspapers etc.
(4) One A-4 page of title of collage, with names of guide/adviser teacher, participants, age and class, and concept typed and stapled together to be submitted.
(5) Judging criterion will include concept, neatness, choice of colors, school uniform of team members, concept note submission and theme.

What Not To Do

1. Never exceed time limit. Write your concepts in simple language. Your costume / school uniform should be clean and well ironed.
