Emerging Anjali Artists Contest

EAA (Emerging Anjali Artists) is a new initiative in Anjali to recognize the power of creative art. School and College students are invited to participate in “Celebrating Childhood” that aims to raise young people’s awareness of disabilities and inclusion. Artwork received by 25st September, 2017 will be showcased in Anjali Festival and also on International Day for Persons with Disability on 3rd December in state level function. Submissions will be accepted until 25th September, 2017 after which date the general public will be invited to vote for their favorite drawings. From the best 100, a designated jury will select fifty drawings to be exhibited in many platforms across India.

Category 1 – School Students (Class VI – Class X), Category II – College Students (XI, XII, +2, +3 and University)

Number of Works

A maximum of two, not having been awarded any prize in any other contests. One work will focus on ‘Overcoming Disability.’


The painting must be created in physical media (i.e. Oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, etc.). There is no size restriction. The artworks will be sent without any support.


Only "THE TITLE" of the work will be mentioned on the back of it. The cover letter should mention, name, address, email id, mobile number and college/disability/organization details as per category. The word "DISABLED" will be written in the case of a participant with disability, who will give proof of such a disability. The word “STUDENT” will be written for bonafide students who will send proof of their studentship.


The members of the jury will be renowned names in the photographic field.


Five best artwork in school category will get Rs. 1000/- each. Five best artworks in college category will get Rs. 3000/- each.

Awarded Works

All the awarded works will become part of the Swabhiman’s art library. Entry to this contest implies the contestants' authorization for the reproduction of their works in any media or for advertising purposes without being eligible to any payment for rights. The organization will mention the author's name on all possible reproductions. The contestants are responsible for the non-existence of third party's rights or claims of royalties.


The entry to this contest is free. Each contestant will be eligible to only one prize. Paintings will be judged on the following criterion: Drawing, Values, Edges, Composition, Color, Paint Manipulation (Brushwork), and subject matter selection. Your painting must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else's. The organization will handle the works with great care and will not be responsible for any damage or loss that might occur. To avoid this, works must be properly packed. Should any problem not contemplated in these rules arise, it will be solved by the organization itself. The awarding of prizes will be unquestionable. Entry to this contest means the total acceptance of the present rules.
